If you wish to register as a dealer (of books, ephemera, maps, or prints) then on the Home Page of SC, select the icon 'NEW DEALERS REGISTER HERE', then 'New Dealer Entry'. NB: Please read our Terms and Conditions at this point. There are three screens to complete: Business Details, Stock Subjects, and Password selection. Complete as many of the fields as you can - the more there is the better for everyone using the website.

Business Details

First, select 'Directory' at the top of the screen. The list is based on the historical areas covered by our printed directories and if new editions are generated in print your entry will appear within that directory you have selected.
You can register as just a dealer in books, ephemera, maps or prints - or, if you also major in second category, then you will need to create a second entry. The stock speciality list for ephemera, maps, and prints differs from book subjects.
After you have selected the level of stock - you are asked to nominate the subjects of which you have substantial stocks. After you have added any notes, at the foot, select 'Next' by clicking on the image. This takes you to a large list of Stock Subjects.

Stock Subjects
Select Stock Subjects by placing your cursor in the little box adjacent to the text and click. If you select one in error, simply click again when your cursor is over the little box.
- Remember to duplicate the 'Major Subjects' as 'Subjects Stocked' on this screen.

Password
On this screen - add your contact name, and either accept the default password or you can select your own alpha-numeric password.
Make a note of the LoginID number as this coupled with your password form your access details. You will need these to see pages on SC.

When completed - click 'Save'.

The site then shows you on the screen all the data that you have created. We suggest you look through the details you have entered. You spot an error, quit the page and sign on again (Free Dealer Entry), using the LogonID and Password.
The site also e-mails you the complete form for safe keeping - this happens after every complete sequence of looking through the three screens.
You have now completed your entry.

2 AMENDING YOUR ENTRY

When you have finished amending your entry - on the third screen, click on 'Save'. Job done.

CALENDARS

Note: Our website allows organisers to create their own entries - and to make last minute changes as they occur.  You may find it helpful to browse existing entries first to see what information others have included. (see Viewing Fairs)

To create an entry for or a book, ephemera, print, map and virtual fair, first go to the Home Page of Sheppard's Confidential (www.sheppardsconfidential.com). These notes also apply to anyone creating an entry for an auction or festival.

5 At foot there are two options for saving your entry.

-- If you have more than one event at the venue, then click on 'Save and Continue'
Note: click this if you have another entry where some or most of the information will be the same (e.g. Fair organizer, location, times etc). Repeat as required - and use 'Save' on the last entry.

You can create the entry and upload your files to our website directly.  The ideal format is a PDF file with all contact details and terms of business listed at the start. We can also accept Word files - again with all contact details etc at the start. Both file types can be uploaded via our website. Or, you can attach the file(s) to an e-mail but see notes shown below.
Catalogues listed also receive a mention in our weekly newsletter.

Additional publicity can be achieved by the inclusion of a cover image in our weekly newsletter, but write for more details and current advertising rates.
